Taking a breather with our new Be Healthy Club

Nearly a dozen participated in the first Be Healthy Club sponsored hike. The adventurers explored Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve hiking trails. It was a great family friendly hike with easy to navigate trails. It offered panoramic ocean views as well as typical California coastal wildlife, including maritime chaparral, and the rare Torrey pines. One of trails lead us to a beautiful secluded beach. What a special experience. Best of all we had a great time, laughed together, soaked up the ideal sunny San Diego sunshine, while enjoyed one another’s company.

Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a reserve is not a park. A natural reserve status is assigned to an area of importance, and typically is one that contains threatened plants, animals, habitats, or unique geological formations. As such, a reserve is a protected area targeted for conservation and carries with it restrictions that are not found in parks. Of the 279 units in the California State Park system, only 14 have reserve status and Torrey Pines is one of them.

We are currently planning our next hike. Hope you will be able to join us. Contact Us for more information!
